Best of the Run?
I've always felt that 4/26 is the most overrated of the '72 Euro run, while 5/3 is the most underrated. Still, both make for the top eight shows of the
...
run. While all 22 shows of the tour were stellar (with the exception of 4/21), there are eight essential shows. They are as follows (in chronological order of date performed): 4/8 4/14 4/24 4/26 5/3 5/10 5/11 5/26 Would welcome any discussion to this claim...

just dawned on me
I was never that crazy about Europe '72. I always prefered December of '71. But I could never put my finger on why. I like Playing In The Band along the

lines of Ace, and the Fall of 1971 versions are great, even though they leave me wanting another minute or so of Garcia jamming. I just listened to this version from Paris, and the jam caught my attention. "Yes," I thought, "that's the sound Jerry had on Ace.(Wah-wah?) This is the way I like PITB!" Then the jam ended, and in came you-know-who. I was never a member of the Donna haters' club; never put her down in the slightest way. I guess I just joined. Minus a star for Donna's "contribution".
